Iran Out, Italy In
So I'm not sure if you remember my entry No Aversions to the Persians, but at the time some outside sources were showing the bizarre result that the traffic rank for Crazy Uncle George's A to Z of Hotties was best in Iran.
This, of course, made no sense to me, in the same way that balanced budgets make no sense to me, because I thought people in Iran weren't big fans of The George. In fact, one could even say that the Iranians weren't showering The George with flowers. Of course, that statistic didn't mean that more of my traffic came from Iran than any other country. Obviously, most came from the U.S. But the rank of this page in Iran relative to other pages for Iran was better than the rank of this page in any other country relative to other pages there. Now, it seems the tables have turned, and since it's the season for political pandering, I've switched the jersey and the flag, and... well, Christina wasn't Iranian anyway, so I didn't bother.
It seems that my new big dog, traffic-wise, is Italy, so it's time to start the pandering there. Whoo, um... I can't remember how to pander to other countries. Does Italy like people who were sorta in the Texas National Guard? I'm not really sure I trust that info, anyway. It's based off some things that would mean not having enough data for a site this size. (According to my server logs, we get 3000 unique visitors a week, so the number of these who'd be susceptible to the spyware or whatever that these traffic measurement websites use would be pretty small.) Also, these demographic studies conflict with some other ones I've seen, which looked a little more reliable and were able to tie the site to brand affinities that would make sense, like Stuff Magazine.
